Singularity 6’s cozy community life sim Palia just dropped its largest update yet, and it’s packed with mystery, magic, and a forest full of ancient secrets. The Elderwood Expansion is live across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, bringing new story content, mechanics, decor, and creatures to collect.
Whether you’re a seasoned villager or just starting, there’s plenty to dig into — or mine, hunt, and glide through — in this lush new chapter of Palia’s journey.
Welcome to Elderwood: A Magical Forest of Secrets
The heart of the update is the Elderwood Adventure Zone, a brand-new explorable forest steeped in magic and Umbraan mystery. Packed with new quests, gatherables, villagers, and a fresh main storyline, this zone continues the narrative from the Temples questline. You’ll want to polish your tools and wrap up “Rooted in Place” before diving in.
Artifact Hunting and Party-Wide Relics
The expansion introduces Artifacts and Relics — collectible equipment that adds unique buffs for you and your entire party. Work with others to track down and level up these relics by piecing together artifact sets spread throughout Elderwood.
New Gathering Systems and Mining Updates
A new type of magical corruption called Infected Essence affects gatherables in Elderwood. Specialized materials and gear must be crafted to collect them safely. Meanwhile, Palium mining gets a much-needed overhaul, dedicated Gold and Silver nodes, and entirely new forage items, from Staircase Mushrooms to Batterfly Beans.
Say Hello to the Ogopuu, Schmole, and Rockhopper
If magical creature collecting is more your vibe, Elderwood introduces adorable and mischievous new critters, including the Ogopuu, Schmole, and Rockhopper. Plushes, mounts, and pets themed after these cuddly companions are up for grabs through gameplay and the revamped Premium Store.
New Recipes, Crops, and the Umbraan Decor Set
Fans of farming and interior design get plenty to love here, too. New Elderwood-exclusive crops and cooking recipes expand your crafting options, while the new Umbraan Decor set is found entirely through exploration. Decor limits for housing plots have also been increased, meaning you can deck out your cozy home in mystical forest style.
Console Players Join the Cozy Chaos
With this update, Palia officially welcomes PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players into the community. It’s never been easier to jump in, glide through enchanting landscapes, cook with friends, and uncover ancient secrets with your customizable villager.
Palia: Elderwood is out now and free across all platforms.
